Total Player 2018 by Nenad Vukanić

Nenad Vukanić started his career as a player in the Montenegrin club Primorac and continued to build his career through many other teams. He’s been collecting titles and acknowledgments on national and international levels.

At the end of 2017, Vukanić became the head coach of the French national team, crowning his active water polo career with an honorable coaching position. Since then, the team has grown, slowly but surely climbing the ladders at both European and World contests. He plans on expanding France’s success at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and in 2024 when France will host the Games.

Nenad Vukanić’s Total 5 of 2018

1st – Andrija Prlainović

Serbian National Player | Club: Szolnoki VSC | Position: Wing

“As a European champion, he’s the most consistent Serbian player for years and a player who’s pushing his team forward, never quitting.”

Felipe Perrone Rocha

2nd – Felipe Perrone

Spanish National Player | Club: Barceloneta | Position: Field Player

“A player who gave Barceloneta and the Spanish national team a new energy and got them to the Final Eight, silver at both Europa Cup and European Championships.”

3rd – Daniel Lopez Pinedo

Spanish National Player | Club: Barceloneta | Position: Goalkeeper

“In addition to Perrone, Lopez is probably the best goalkeeper of the European Championships. If he defended that shot in the finals, I might consider him for my first pick.”

4th – Duško Pijetlović

Serbian National Player | Club: Dynamo Moscow | Position: Centre forward

“A man who always puts the greatest pressure on the opposing team and gets a chance for the Serbian attackers to come forward. He’s the kind of player who outshines even those specialized in defense.”

5th – Xavi Garcia

Spanish/Croatian National Player | Club: VK Jug | Position: Wing

“The player who came to the Croatian national team carrying energy and passion. He’s in love with water polo, and is always ready to compete and win.”
