Angelos Vlachopoulos has left Novi Beograd after spending four years with the club.
In recent months, there were signs that he might stay, but today the player confirmed his departure. During his time at Novi Beograd, the club won the Serbian and Regional League titles and three silver medals in the Champions League, with Vlachopoulos being one of the key players. He also served as the captain for a while.
Vlachopoulos wrote a nice farewell message on his social networks, underlining that those four years at Novi Beograd were amazing.Â
He thanked the people from the club’s management and coaches for giving him the opportunity to be part of the team, for helping him and his family, and for being so supportive on his bad days. Vlachopoulos also thanked the fans and concluded:
„In the end, I left the guys with whom I shared most time, laughing and crying together, sharing everything like true family. Thank you. I will miss you all
“.
Vlachopoulos's next career move is known, but it will only be temporary. In the coming months, he will play for Sliema in the Maltese Summer League,. He will miss the World Championships in Singapore.
However, an announcement regarding the club he will join in September is expected soon. Prior to moving to Novi Beograd in 2021, Vlachopoulos played for Vouliagmeni, Brescia, and Eger.Â
