It is uncommon for a captain of a junior national team from a top-ranking country to join a foreign club, though it does happen occasionally.
Savona announced that it had reached an agreement with Hungarian attacker Oliver Leinweber, who played for Szeged until the end of this season.
Leinweber will turn 20 in October. In the 2020/2021 season, he made his debut in the Hungarian Championship with Szeged. This year, Szeged finished in 7th place in the national league.
Oliver was part of the Hungarian youth national team that won gold at the 2022 World U18 Championships. He is currently preparing for the World U20 Championship in Zagreb with the Hungarian national team, of which he is the captain, Savona announced.
