After confirming the appointment of Elvis Fatovic as its new head coach, Olympiacos announced its first reinforcement for the upcoming season.
Hungarian defender Danial Angyal joined Olympiacos.
In the last two seasons, Angyal, 33, played for Marseille and won 4th place with the French club in the 2025 Champions League.
Before moving abroad, Angyal played for several Hungarian clubs: KSI (until 2010), Honved (2010-2012), Vasas (2012–2014), Eger (2014–2018), Szolnok (2018–2022), and OSC Budapest (2022–2023).
Angyal won the 2021 Euro Cup with Szolnok and the Hungarian Championships in the same season.
Representing Hungary, Angyal clinched the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, gold at the 2023 World Championships and silver at the 2022 European Championships.
He will join his fellow countryman, Gergo Zalanki, at Olympiacos. The left-handed attacker moved to the Piraeus-based club last summer.
Angyal left Marseille, but the French champion will have a Hungarian player on its roster. Adam Nagy departed from Ferencvaros after winning the 2025 Champions League and moved to Marseille.
