Marseille, the French champion, has begun reshaping its roster for the upcoming season.
The club officially announced its first new addition: Efstathios Kalogeropoulos, a 23-year-old rising star from Greece, who has transferred to Marseille from Vouliagmeni. He is the first Greek player to join Marseille since the late 1990s.
Kalogeropoulos was part of Greece's golden generation in water polo, winning gold medals at both the 2018 World U18 Championships and the 2019 World U20 Championships. As a member of the senior national team, Kalogeropoulos has earned silver medals in the 2025 World Cup and the 2023 World Championships, as well as bronze medals at the 2022 World Championships and in the World League the previous year.
He also played a significant role in Vouliagmeni's historic success, helping the team secure 4th place in the 2023 Champions League.
Four arrivals and three departures
Marseille has not yet released official information regarding other reinforcements. As of today, the club has brought four new players, including Kalogeropoulos. Other sources have confirmed that Olympic champion Radomir Drasovic has joined from Radnicki, Adam Nagy has transferred to Marseille from Ferencvaros, and a Dutch center-forward, Bilal Gbadamassi, who played for Novi Beograd in the 2024 season, has also moved to Marseille.
During this summer, three players have departed from the French club. Andrija Prlainovic has signed with Radnicki, while recently Barceloneta announced that Italian Alessandro Velotto had left Marseille to join their team. Additionally, Hungarian Danial Angyal has moved to Olympiacos.
Michael Bodegas, Vladan Spaic, and Pierre Frederic Vanpeperstraete renewed their contracts with Marseille.
