After signing Dimitrios Skoumpakis and Adrian Weinberg, Panathinaikos has confirmed three new arrivals, signaling its intention to aim high in the upcoming season.
Konstantinos Gkiouvetsis, a 26-year-old member of the Greek national team, arrived from Panionios, where he spent the last three seasons. Previously, he played for Chios and Vouliagmeni. Gkiouvetsis was a key player of the golden Greek generation, contributing to their success in winning two gold medals at the World Championships and one European title at junior and youth level between 2017 and 2019.
Representing Greece in senior competitions, he earned an Olympic silver medal in Tokyo, as well as silver at the 2023 World Championships, bronze at the 2021 World League, and silver in the World Cup this year. He is set to compete in the World Championships in Singapore.
Nikolaos Kopelaidis, a 29-year-old left-handed player, also joined from Panionios, alongside Gkiouvetsis. Kopelaidis has played for several clubs, including Ilioupoli, Vouliagmeni, Posillipo (Italy), Palaio Faliro, Sete (France), and Panionios between 2021 and 2025. Three years ago, he finished 5th at the 2022 European Championships with Greece.
