Jadran Herceg Novi did a great job in the 2024 transfer window, and it will be very active in the upcoming summer.
The bronze medalists from this season’s Regional League have secured two new signings: goalkeeper Lazar Andric, a member of the Montenegrin national team, and Russian player Daniil Merkulov, both returning to the Herceg Novi-based club.
Andric left Jadran in 2013 at the age of 19, heading to the USA to study and play water polo at Long Beach City College and the University of California, Berkeley, where he received several personal awards during NCAA tournaments. After graduating, he joined the Olympic Club in San Francisco. In 2019, he returned to Europe and has been playing for French club Montpellier since then.

A few years ago, Andric was included in the national team's extended roster. Last week, displayed excellent performance at the World Cup Final Eight in Podgorica, serving as the only goalkeeper on Montenegro’s roster as captain Petar Tesanovic got ill just before the tournament.

Daniil Merkulov, 28, first joined Jadran in 2016, where he played for two seasons before moving to Jug Dubrovnik, where he remained until 2021, when he moved to Budapest. Merkulov was one of the best players of Ferencvaros for three seasons. After winning the 2024 Champions League, he left the club and joined Savona last summer.
