A day after splitting up with Athanasios Kechagias, Spandau 04 appointed a new head coach.
Serb Vladimir Markovic will coach Spandau in the future period, the German champion announced this evening.
Markovic (48) played for Partizan, Crvena Zvezda, Becej, Brescia, Ortigia, etc, and was a member of the youth national team of Yugoslavia.
He gained coaching experience working with junior and youth clubs in Italy and Serbia.
In the season 2021-22, he was Dejan Savicβs assistant on the coaching staff of the Serbian national team.
Markovic took over the Serbian club Stari Grad in the summer of 2022. He guided Stari Grad until the beginning of this year. Then, he moved to Germany and joined the coaching staff of the national team, as head coach Milos Sekulicβs assistant.
Markovic will debut on Spandau's bench this weekend in the national championship. On Tuesday, he will lead the Berliners in the Champions League match against Marseille in France.
