Zoran Bajic has been appointed as the head coach of Mladost once again
The club's management made this decision at a meeting held today. He will replace Igor Milanovic, who joined the club in October, but the decorated coach and the Zagreb-based club didn't sign a new contract after the season ended.
Bajic, who was Mladost’s goalkeeper in the 1980s, has been involved with the club as a coach since 2015. He had already served as the senior team head coach from 2017 until November 2023. During his six years in this role, Mladost won the Croatian Championship in 2021, two Croatian Cups, and two Regional League titles. However, the 2023/24 season didn't start as expected, and the club changed its head coach. Bajic was replaced by Damir Vincek, who coached the team until last October.
Bajic left the first team bench in 2023, but he remained with Mladost. Over the past year and a half, he was the head coach of the junior men’s team and the senior women’s team. The female team won the 2025 Croatian League under Bajic's guidance.
He also serves as the head coach of the Croatia U20 national team, which will compete in the World Championships in Zagreb from June 14 to 20. Last year, Bajic successfully led the Croatian U19 national team to a gold medal at the European Championships.
Mladost, which finished second in the Croatian League, will participate in the Champions League qualifications. It will have a stronger team for the 2026 season. The already experienced squad has been bolstered by new additions, including Luka Loncar, Ivan Nagaev, and several other players.
