Waspo 98 Hannover retained the title of German champion, beating Spandau 12:7 in the third match of the final, winning the crown with a perfect 17-0 record (12 victories in the regular season and five in the playoffs). Earlier in the season, Hannover also captured the German Cup, capping off a dominant campaign with a domestic double.
The 2025 title is Hannover’s sixth triumph in the German League since 2018.
In the third game, played in the outdoor pool in Hannover, Waspo left no chance to Spandau. The hosts earned an early 4:0 lead. By halftime, they increased the margin to 7:2. The match was more balanced in the second half, but Waspo controlled the game and held a comfortable six-goal advantage (10:4) going into the final quarter. With two goals in the first two minutes of the fourth quarter, Hannover went to 12:4. Spandau slightly reduced the deficit afterward.
