Olympiacos and Vouliagmeni continued their winning streaks in the Greek League. The “red-whites” from Piraeus cruised to another big win, this time against PAOK.
Vouliagmeni beat Volos harder than expected in a match that saw a few red cards.
Olympiacos – PAOK 22:8 (6:2, 5:3, 5:2, 6:1)
Glyfada – Apollon Smyrna 7:17 (1:4, 1:7,1:3, 4:3)
Palaio Faliro – AEK 5:9 (1:2, 0:4, 1:3, 3:0)

Olympiacos taught a lesson to PAOK – 22:8. Ioannis FOuntoulis contributed to the win with five goals, Mourikis and Gkillas added four each, Filipovic scored three goals, etc.
Apollon enjoyed an easy cruise in the match against Glyfada (17:7). Gounas scored five goals.
AEK kept 3rd place with an away victory Glyfada – 9:5. AEK earned a 9:2 advantage before the last break. Glyfada started climbing back in the fourth period, but it was too late.
Ethnikos didn’t care much about defense in the game against Aris but recorded a convincing win – 21:14.

An encounter between the group leader Vouliagmeni and bottom-placed Volos was a surprisingly tense match. Vouliagmeni played without a few key players (Mylonakis, Kapotsis…), but it had a solid 9:4 advantage before the final quarter. But, early in the fourth period (26th minute), Vouliagmeni’s Gkiouvetsis was excluded for brutality foul, so Volos had an extra player in the following four minutes. The visitors didn’t manage to catch up with Vouliagmeni, which recorded an 11:9 victory. The teams were filled with tension even before the final quarter. A member of each coaching staff was red-carded in the second and third quarters. Gkioutetsis, Kalogeropoulos and Skoumpakis scored two goals each for Vouliagmeni, but the best scorer of the game was Volos’ Aragia (5 goals).
Ydraikos edged out Panathinaikos n a very close duel. Ydraikos had a 6:5 advantage before the final quarter. Panathinaikos did its best to equalize but failed. Ydraikos secured a 9:7 advantage in the fourth, Panathinaikos’ eighth goal came too late – 40 seconds before the buzzer.
