Favorites made no mistake in the 9th round of the Greek League.
Teams that are in the top half of the table collected points. Some of them cruised to the wins. But some of the favorites had to fight hard to defeat their opponents.
Οlympiacos– Glyfada 15:3 (4:0, 2:0, 3:2, 6:1)
Apolln Smyrnis – Ethnikos 14:9 (3:2, 2:3, 4:3, 5:1)
Palaio Faliro – Peristeri 9:11 (1:2, 2:2, 3:5, 3:2)
Chania – Ydraikos 8:9 (2:0, 2:2, 3:4, 1:3)
AEK – PAOK 5:8 (2:2, 0:2, 1:2, 2:2)
Vouliagmeni – Panionios postponed (Vouliagmeni played in the LEN Euro Cup semifinals)

Olympiacos ran over Glyfada – 15:3. The top scorer was Argyropoulos, with three goals.
Apollon Smyrnis defeated last-placed Ethnikos (14:9). Apollon started slowly, Glyfada kept up with the favorites for three quarters. At halftime, the sides were tied at 5:5. The third period belonged to Apollon (4:3). The hosts secured a win in the final eight minutes (5:1). But, it should be noted that Apollon’s Nikola Moskov was red-carded in the middle of the third period (exclusion without the substitution). He tried to punch a player of Ethnikos and the home team had one player fewer in the next four minutes. But, Apollon, led by Alexandros Gounas (6 goals) secured the convincing win in the last quarter.
Peristeri remains in 2nd place, after an 11:9 victory over Palaio Faliro. Johnny Hooper scored six goals for Palaio Faliro, but that wasn’t enough for a win. The top scorers in the winning team were Matt Farmer and Panos Klimos (three goals each).
Ydraikos recovered from a shocking 2:19 loss to Apollon. Chania hosted Ydraikos. The home side started better and had a 4:2 lead at halftime. But, Ydraikos tightened its defense after the middle break and earned a 9:7 lead. The hosts reduced the gap in the finish of the game.
PAOK played excellently in defense and achieved an 8:5 victory over AEK in Athens.
