Like in 2024, Radnicki and Novi Beograd will face each other in the Serbian Championships final. Both teams secured their spots in the gold-medal series after two games of the semifinals. Today, Radnicki demolished Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade with a score of 20:8, while Novi Beograd had a very tough match against Sabac but managed to secure a narrow 12:11 away win and advance to the final.
Radnicki dominated the match against Crvena Zvezda from the first whistle and won very convincingly. The Regional League champion opened the game with a 4:0 lead. The hosts narrowed the gap to two goals for short (2:5), but Radnicki responded with four goals to go to 9:2. Already in the 17th minute, the visitors reached a double-digit margin (13:3) and increased it to 12 by the end of the match. Radomir Drasovic contributed four goals to Radnicki’s 20:8 win. Rasovic and left-handed Vickovic added three each. Vukicevic scored three goals for Crvena Zvezda.
Several encounters between Novi Beograd and Sabac this season have proven that Sabac could be a formidable opponent to the reigning champion. Sabac, which had great support from the stands, led 2:1 after the first eight minutes. Novi Beograd, led by Vasilije Martinovic, who scored seven goals today (!), found its rhythm in the second quarter and entered the second half leading 5:4. A big battle continued after the middle break. Sabac chased the favorite and equalized a few minutes before the end (11:11), but Novi Beograd was up to the task in the final minutes and managed to achieve a 12:11 win. Young Luka Gladovic scored a decisive goal. The man of the match was Vasilije Martinovic Gbadamassi (Novi Beograd), Barac , Stojanovic, Korac (Sabac) each netted two goals.
The first match of the final will be played on May 6 in Kragujevac.
Seven-time European champion Partizan returns to the European stage. It defeated Stari Grad in the first two matches of the semifinals of the 5th-8th place playoffs and therefore qualified for the new Conference Cup, as the 5th- and 6th-placed teams have the right to enter. After a 10:9 win in the first match, Partizan recorded a 13:10 victory today.
