Team USA will compete in the men’s tournament at the World Championships in Singapore with a significantly rejuvenated roster.
Only seven players from the bronze medal-winning team at the 2024 Olympic Games will be participating in Singapore: new captain Maxwell Irving, goalkeeper Adrian Weinberg, Hannes Daube, Marko Vavic, Dylan Woodhead, Chase Dodd, and Ryder Dodd.
Ben Hallock, Alex Obert, Luca Cupido, Alex Bowen, Johnny Hooper, and goalkeeper Drew Holland, who also reached the podium in Paris, are missing.
Head coach Dejan Udovicic has included several members of the U20 team that recently won the silver medal at the 2025 World Junior Championships in Zagreb. In addition to Ryder Dodd, who also competed in Paris and was named the MVP of the World U20 Championships, Connor Ohl, Ryan Ohl, and Ben Liechty are the juniors who will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in Singapore.
New captain and new member of Pro Recco, Max Irving, is one of those who have experienced European club water polo, along with Vavic, Woodhead, Daube, Saveljic and Larsen. The latter played for Pro Recco in the 2025 season, but he will continue his career elsewhere.
USA’s 2025 World Championships roster
Goalkeepers: Adrian Weinberg (Panathinaikos), Bernando Herzer (USC/Los Angeles Athletic Club).
Field players: Connor Ohl (Newport Harbor), Dominic Brown (California/LA Athletic Club), Hannes Daube (Apollon Smyrnis), Chase Dodd (UCLA/Vanguard Aquatics), Ryder Dodd (UCLA/Mission WPC), Jake Ehrhardt (USC/LA Athletic Club), Maxwell Irving (Pro Recco), Jack Larsen (UCLA), Benjamin Liechty (UCLA), Ryan Ohl (Stanford), Nicolas Saveljic (Telimar), Marko Vavic (Savona), Dylan Woodhead (Vouliagmeni).
The Americans probably won’t have demanding tasks in the group in Singapore as they will play against three non-European teams: Canada, Brazil and Singapore.
