Vouliagmeni remains the only team with a perfect record after four rounds of the Greek League. Vouliagmeni defeated Glyfada 8:7 in a very exciting derby of Day 4.
Besides Vouliagmeni, Peristeri is still unbeaten. In the fourth round, Peristeri took a point against PAOK (8:8).
Titleholder Olympiacos beat Chania in a match with almost 40 goals (27:10).

Vouliagmeni arrived at the match against Glyfada as a favorite, but the 2nd-placed team in the 2019/20 season, had to work hard to defeat the home team. The teams were tied before the final period (5:5). In the middle of the fourth quarter, Glyfada had a slim advantage of 7:6, but Vouliagmeni managed to achieve the win, thanks to its experienced aces. Emmanouil Mylonakis equalized – 7:7, while Vouliagmeni’s legend Christos Afroudakis scored the winner for 8:7 with 54 seconds to go. Besides Mylonakis and Afroudakis, six Vouligmeni players got on the scoresheet: Alafragkis, Troulos, Gouvis, Ar. Halyvopoulos, N. Kourovanis, and Basic. Scorers for Glyfada: Christoforidis 2, Stevenson 2, Chatzistefanou 1, Papoukas 1, Charalambopoulos 1.
An encounter between PAOK and Peristeri ended with no winner. The teams were neck and neck throughout the game. Peristeri’s Agortsas set the final score – 8:8 with 36 seconds remaining on the clock.
Before the fourth round, three teams had a maximum of 9 points– Vouliagmeni, Peristeri, and Chania.
This weekend, Chania hosted Olympiacos, which was too strong for the home team, although Chania kept up with the favorites for a while. Even 11 goals were scored in the first quarter. Olympiacos opened the match with a 2:0 lead, but the hosts responded with five consecutive goals and earned a 5:2 lead. Before the second quarter, Chania had a minimal advantage (6:5). In the middle of the second period, Chania led 8:7. Olympiacos dominated in the remaining time and demolished the rival in the second half for the final score – 27:10. Konstantinos Genidounias was the best scorer (5 goals). He was followed by Argyropoulos and Chrysospathis (4 goals each). Nikola Bogdanovic scored three goals for the home team.
Apollon Smyrnis, without Alex Bowen and Stefan Mitrovic, defeated AEK 11:7. A Montenegrin Nikola Moskov led the winning team with four goals, Alexandros Gounas added three. An American Bowen will be out of the pool for a month because he got injured on the first day of the joint preparations of the Greek and the American national teams in Athens a few days ago. Gounas was also injured at the start of these preparations, but he recovered.
Volos defeated Ethnikos in Piraeus and collected its first points in the first season in the A1 League.
