Vouliagmeni put an end to Olympiacos’ winning streak in the Greek Championship.
The big derby of the 4th round of the 2nd stage ended in a 12:12 draw. After 17 straight wins, Olympiacos lost two points for the first time. Olympiacos was in front for most of the match with Vouliagmeni, played in Piraeus. However, Vouliagmeni was closer to a win. The visitors gained a 12:11 advantage in the final minutes. Still, Filip Filipovic scored a late equalizer to save a point for Olympiacos.

Vouliagmeni opened the derby with a 2:0 lead in the first period. Midway through the second quarter, Vouliagmeni had a 4:3 advantage. But, shortly after, Olympiacos took control and earned a 7:4 lead. The hosts maintained the difference until the middle break. The “red-whites” rebuilt a 3-goal lead early in the fourth period (10:7 and 11:8). But, Vouliagmeni responded with four unanswered goals. Kapotsis gave the visitors a 12:11 advantage in the 30th minute. But, the rivals shared the points, as Filipovic leveled at 12:12 with 65 seconds left on the clock.
Anyway, Olympiacos can be satisfied with the outcome. The draw was enough for the title-holder to keep a nine-point advantage ahead of Vouliagmeni and secure 1st place in the regular season two rounds before the end.
Filipovic was the best scorer with four goals. Mourikis added three. Genidounias, Fountoulis, Gouvis, Dervisis and Chrysopathis scored one goal each.
Gkuouvetsis was the best scorer for the visiting team with three goals. Besides him, seven players sent the ball into Olympiacos’ net: Paparic (2), Skoumpakis (2), Alafrangis (1), Lozina (1), Kalogeropoulos (1) and Kapotsis (1), Kourovankis (1).
Apollon earned an away victory over Panionios in the other match in this group. Panionios entered the final period with a 9:7 advantage, but Apollon, led by Alexandros Gounas (4 goals in the game), dominated the last eight minutes and recorded a 13:11 victory.
