The round was opened by matches Real Canoe – Barceloneta and Terrassa – Mediterrani because Barceloneta and Terrassa had duties in the Champions League this weekend.
Title-holder Barceloneta beat Real Canoe in Madrid with ease (16:7).
Terrassa overcame a three-goal deficit in the game against Mediterrani and celebrated a 21:18 victory. Mediterrani had an 8:5 advantage in the second quarter. Terrassa started coming back and entered the last period with a 15:14 advantage. The fourth quarter saw 12 goals. Terrassa produced a 3:0 rush for an 18:14 lead in the middle of the quarter and secured the win.
Fourth-placed Sabadell defeated Mataro. After the 1st quarter, Mataro was ahead (2:1). Sabadell ruled the field in the 2nd period and netted four unanswered goals, so it had a 5:2 advantage at halftime, while it increased the margin to four (6:2) early in the third period. The hosts cut the deficit in the fourth quarter (8:10 and 9:10), but Sabadell kept the win. Victor Cabanas hit the back of the net 15 seconds from the end for the final score – 11:9.
Navarra hosted Sant Andreu in Pamplona. The home side was leading for most of the time, but it earned only a point. Navarra built a 4-goal advantage before the final quarter (7:3). However, the visitors shut out Navarra in the last eight minutes, while they netted four goals and secured a point – 7:7. Both teams had good chances for a winning goal in the last two minutes, but the game ended in a draw.
Catalunya defeated last-placed Tenerife 16:12.
