After coaching Waspo98 Hannover for over 20 years, Karsten Seehafer is retiring.
Seehafer, who won the German Championship as a player with Hannover in 1993, returned to the club in 2003 and assumed the role of head coach. During his tenure, he led the team to remarkable success, securing five German titles in seven years (2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024), six German Cups in seven years (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023), and four consecutive Super Cups between 2017 and 2020.
While Hannover never achieved significant success in European competitions, they did make three Final Eight appearances, including when they hosted the event in 2019. In 2021 and 2022, they attained their best-ever finishes in the Champions League, with back-to-back sixth-place finishes in Belgrade.
In addition to his coaching duties, Seehafer has served on the Waspo board since 2008 and has been the Vice President of the club since 2012.
Alexander Radovic will succeed Seehafer as head coach, with Luka Seculic assisting him
