Apollon Smyrnis is the big winner of the 16th matchday of the Greek League.

Apollon edged out Panionios in a big derby (12:11) and reduced the gap between the two teams in the standings. Panionios is still in 3rd place, but 4th-placed Apollon is just a point behind.

Leader Olympiacos earned an away win over Peristeri. Vouliagmeni beat Panathinaikos, and PAOK was better than Ethnikos.
