The Barcelona Masters Cup, organized by the Barcelona International Water Polo Academy (BIWPA), is back.
On a wave of last year’s success, the 3rd edition of the event will take place in the breathtaking Olympic pools in Montjuic, just like in 2022.
Between June 9 and 11, BIWPA will welcome water polo players from all over the world. So far, the teams from Spain, Venezuela, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Chile, Serbia, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Slovakia have confirmed their participation.
The teams will be divided into four age groups: men’s 50+, 40+ and 30+, and women’s 30+.
Each team will play a similar number of games in both pools throughout the tournament. After the group stage, all teams will compete in the knockout phase, regardless of their performance in the groups.
More than water polo
Players will have access to a village area where they can relax between games, eat food, or have a beer with a view of Barcelona’s skyline.
On Friday night, the teams will gather for a cocktail dinner and party at the fantastic Esferic club, which is located just two minutes from the pool. Guests will enjoy great food, music, and dancing while sharing their passion for water polo with players from different countries.
