Croatian Cup: Mladost and Jug in final

As expected, Mladost and Jug will play in the final of the Croatian Cup tomorrow.
The Final Four has started today in Rijeka. Jug defeated Jadran Split 11:9, while Mladost beat host Primorje 11:6.

Semifinals

Jug – Jadran S 11:9 (2:3, 4:1, 3:1, 2:4)

Jug AO: Fatovic 2, Garcia 2, Obert 1, Loncar 1, Merkulov 1, Papanastasiou 1, Zuvela 1, Benic 1, Obradovic 1.
Jadran Split: Marinic Kragic 3, Milradovic 1, Stojanac 1, Setka 1, Duzevic 1, Zovic 1, Buric 1.

Mladost – Primorje 11:6 (2:1, 2:0, 6:2, 1:3)

Mladost:Kharkov 3,Milos 2, Bukic 2, Lazic 1, Dasic 1, Buslje 1, Viskovic 1.
Primorje: Brubnjak 3, Jurisic 1, Rakovac 1,Paparic 1.

Mladost started slowly against Primorje. The score was 1:1 in the 6th minute. But, Mladost took control and built a 6:1 lead by the middle of the third quarter. Early in the fourth, the Zagreb-based side had a huge 8-goal advantage (11:3) and it let Primorje cut the deficit with three straight goals in the last five minutes.

Jug had a little bit harder task than Mladost. Jadran Split opened the match excellently, with a 2:0 lead. The Croatian champion equalized (2:2), but Jadran finished the first period with a slim lead (3:2). Jug produced a 4:0 run in the second period for 6:3 and controlled the match until the end. In the third period, they increased the margin to four (8:4 and 9:5). After it built an 11:7 advantage (26th minute), Jug was saving energy for tomorrow.

Last season, Mladost defeated Jug 16:12 in the final of the Croatian Cup. After that, the Zagreb-based side won the Regional League, but Jug took the winning trophy in the Croatian League.
