Favorites win in derbies; three teams advance

Favorites Pro Recco (against Ortigia 5:15) and Brescia (against Savona 4:10) took victory in the derbies.

Trieste (against Bogliasco 7:17), Roma (against Anzio 9:10) and Posillipo (against Salerno 10:6) advanced in the table after victories.

Telimar had an easy job against Catania 14:5 while Quinto had problems with De Akker 7:9.

In an anticipated derby matchday 21 between Pro Recco and Ortigia, Pro Recco emerged victorious with an impressive 10-goal advantage. The game started with Pro Recco taking an early lead of 0:2, but Ortigia quickly bounced back with two goals in a row to level the score at 2:2. However, Pro Recco was relentless and made a series of goals to take a 3:5 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second period, Pro Recco continued their dominance by scoring three more goals, extending their lead to a comfortable 3:8. Ortigia, on the other hand, managed to score only two goals until the end of the game, while Pro Recco scored seven more to seal their victory with a final score of 5:15.

Brescia secured a comfortable victory against Savona, with a final score of 4:10. The game got off to an exciting start, with both teams scoring a goal each within the first minute of the game. However, Savona managed to take the lead with a goal from Guidi, bringing the score to 2:1 in their favor. Brescia quickly retaliated with a goal from Gianazza, leveling the score to 2:2. But Savona wasn’t going to back down, as Durdic scored another goal for the team, bringing the score to 3:2 in their favor by the end of the first quarter. In the second period, Brescia managed to turn the game around with two goals, leading to a score of 3:4 at the halftime break. Savona quickly tied the game at 4:4, with a goal from Durdic in the 19th minute. However, Brescia’s lead was restored when the visitors scored another goal over Lazic, bringing the score to 4:5 in their favor. In the last eight minutes of the game, Brescia completely dominated Savona, scoring five more goals and ending the game with a final score of 4:10.

Trieste secured an easy win against Bogliasco after being eliminated in the semifinals of the Euro Cup. Despite the visitors starting with a 0:2 lead, Bogliasco managed to come back into the game, ending the first quarter with a score of 2:3. However, Trieste dominated the second quarter by scoring five consecutive goals, which gave them a big lead of 2:8 in 12th minute. In the remaining quarters, Trieste continued to dominate, increasing their lead to +10 and finishing with a final score of 7:17.

Telimar secured an easy victory against Catania with a final score of 14:5. The hosts dominated the game and were able to establish their lead in the third period, where they took a big advantage and brought the score to 11:4. Telimar continued to build on their lead in the final period of the game, with the difference between the two teams growing steadily. The game ended with a final score of 14:5, with Telimar emerging as the clear winner.

Posillipo put on a great performance against Salerno, securing a 10:6 victory. The team from Naples got off to a strong start, scoring five consecutive goals at the beginning of the game. However, Salerno managed to fight back and brought the score to 5:6 by the start of the fourth quarter. Despite Salerno’s efforts, Posillipo continued to play well and scored five more goals before the end of the game, clinching a 10:6 victory.

Anzio suffered a narrow defeat against Roma, with a final score of 9:10. The game got off to a relatively even start, with both teams scoring two goals in the first quarter. However, Anzio managed to take the lead in the second quarter, bringing the score to 5:3 in their favor. Roma fought back in the third quarter, scoring two goals in a row and reducing Anzio’s lead to 6:5. At the start of the final period, Roma continued to dominate and scored two more goals, taking the lead with a score of 6:7. From there, Roma maintained a constant lead, with Anzio struggling to catch up. Despite their best efforts, Anzio was unable to turn the game around, and Roma emerged as the victors with a final score of 9:10.

Quinto managed to secure a hard-fought victory against De Akker, winning the game 9-7. The match got off to a strong start for De Akker, who managed to take a 4:2 lead by the end of the first quarter. However, Quinto fought back in the second quarter and brought the score to a 5:5 tie by halftime. In the third quarter, the visitors took control of the game and managed to take a 6:9 lead by the end of the quarter. Despite their best efforts, De Akker was unable to catch up in the final period, only managing to reduce the difference to 7:9 before the game ended.
