Greece put Forty-one goals past the Swiss on second day at U19 Europeans

There was a shortened schedule today at the Women’s under 19 Water Polo Championships in Netanya, Israel, as there were only three games, bringing victories for Greece, Spain and Serbia.

There isn’t really much to say about Greece’s 41-2 victory over Switzerland today. While it is obvious to say there was a huge difference between the two sides, all credit has to go to the Greeks – who instead of playing at 30%, were ruthlessly committed to scoring.

NC Vouliagmeni’s Stefania Santa hit double figures in the game, scoring a ridiculous 10 goals, while Olympiacos’ young winger, Foteini Tricha, scored 8 times. Chaldaiou and Kaiafa each converted quads.

Spain played their second game of the competition, and followed up their win at Serbia by stuffing the Turkish. Daniela Moreno (CN Sant Andreu) outscored her teammate Marina Serrano (Sabadell) by a single goal. Moreno netted six, while Serrano made five scores.

In the earlier contest in Group A, the two teams who lost heavily in Group A yesterday, Romania and Serbia, fought it out, with the Serbs running out 13-6 winners against Romania. Ivana Corovic will be satisfied with her team’s performance.

Tijana Lukic, of Red Star Belgrade, scored four in the match. Jovana Radonjic (Tas2000)  and Lolita Advic (Vojvodina) both scored three. Romania’s captain, Alina Olteanu, lead the scoring for her team, with three conversions.
