Total water polo in Eger-OSC derby; Ferencvaros demonstrates their strength

Eight games were played this weekend in round 7 of Hungarian OB1 League. Szolnok was defeated for the first time this season in the derby on the home ground. Ferencvaros and OSC remained only undefeated teams.

The derby in Szolnok turned out to be a one-way street as Ferencvaros showed their power leading by 10:3 on the halftime. Once again this season, Denes Varga displayed a remarkable performance scoring on 5 occasions.

Debrecen played a good match against Miskolc, but the home team managed to control the 3:0 lead until the end of the game. PVSK made a difference in the 3rd quarter when they scored 3 in a row to take a decisive 7:3 lead. UVSE showed no mercy against Szeged a took 3 points with a 12 goals difference win.

OSC wins the derby

The second derby of the 7th round was played in Eger. Fans can be delighted with total water polo presented in this game with 32 goals. Eger had a 5:3 lead in the 2nd quarter, but OSC managed to score 5 goals before the halftime which gave them comfortable 8:5 lead. For the rest of the game, OSC managed to hold on to 2-3 goals lead and the game was resolved by Burian’s goal (17:13) 3:27 min. before the end of the game.

Even though Kaposvar had an advantage throughout the whole match, Vasas managed to take a point with thanks to Nikic’s 4th goal with just 6 seconds left on the clock.

Honved managed to take important points against BVSC with a routine 11:9 victory, while AVUS will have to keep waiting for their first victory after losing against Szentes on home ground.
