The “HEP Cup”, one of just a few water polo tournaments for national teams in the world this year, that was supposed to be held in Zagreb next week (October 26 – 28), is canceled.
It was planned that three teams would participate –host Croatia, Montenegro, and the United States’ national team.
The Croatian Water Polo Federation was forced to cancel the HEP Cup because of the coronavirus pandemic. Croatia captain Andro Buslje tested positive for COVID-19.
Besides Montenegro and the USA, Italy was invited to come, but the Italians earlier canceled the participation. Many of the Italian national team players have been quarantined because of corona cases at their clubs.
