A novelty in Recco’s squad is Filip Filipovic. The captain of Serbia played for the first time in the domestic competitions this season. In the second half of the national league, Filipovic will replace his teammate from the national team Dusan Mandic, who will play only in the Champions League for the rest of the season. Croatia’s goalkeeper Marko Bijac recovered from the injury and returned to the squad.

Brescia beat Salerno easily – 14:7.

Ortigia kept 3rd place, with a 10:8 win over Quinto in Genoa. At halftime, Ortigia had a 4:3 advantage, but the hosts opened the third period with two goals to turn around the deficit to a 5:4 lead. In the 20th minute, they had a 6:5 advantage. Ortigia responded with three straight goals and earned an 8:6 advantage before the final quarter. The home team netted two goals in the first two minutes of the last period for 8:8. Still, the end of the match belonged to Ortigia. The Sicilians scored two goals in the last 106 seconds for a 10:8 victory.

After an unexpected 7:9 loss to Savona last week, Sport Management recorded a 16:9 win over Telimar.

Roma defeat Posillipo in Naples and earned valuable points in their runaway from the “play-out zone” (the 12th-placed and the 13th-placed team will go to the play-out, the 14th-placed will move to Serie A2). Roma was ahead for most of the time. After the third period, the visitors had a 10:8 lead. Posillipo equalized – 10:10 with 04:49 minutes remaining on the clock. In the middle of the quarter, Roma built a 2-goal advantage once more (12:10). Posillipo’s Mattiello converted a man-up in the 30th minute (11:12). Roma’s Montenegrin Vjekoslav Paskovic scored from a penalty shot 76 seconds before the end – 13:11 and ended the hosts’ dreams.

Savona recorded the third straight victory on home soil -12:9 over Canottieri. Canottieri kept up with the hosts until the middle break. But, Savona dominated the third period (7:2) and earned a safe 11:4 lead before the final period.
