The Montenegrin League has continued today. Jadran Herceg Novi demolished Budva 14:5 in the postponed match of Day 4

The competition formula has been changed. It was planned that the regular season consists of 12 rounds (a quadruple round-robin system). But, the Federation decided to shorten the season because of the national team’s packed calendar. The league will be ended with the 6th round. After that, all four teams will advance to the playoffs.

Most of the matches of the regular season have already been played. Only two games are remaining, Cattaro- Jadran, and Jadran-Primorac. These games were postponed, as well as the encounter between Budva and Jadran because rounds 4 – 6 were played in the second half of December, at the time when Jadran competed in the Champions League.

Jadran didn’t start the Montenegrin league as expected. The reigning champion suffered two losses in the first three rounds (to Budva – 8:9 and Primorac – 12:14) early in December.

But, the Herceg Novi team got off to a flying start in the second half of the league.

Playing with recovered Djuro Radovic, who was out of the team for a while, due to the injury, Jadran blew away Budva.

The hosts rushed to an 8:0 lead in the first 12 minutes, and never looked back. Budva its first goal scored in the 12th minute, but after a fantastic opening of the match, only the margin of Jadran’s victory was in question.
