The Champions League clubs continued dominating in the Croatian League. Jug and Jadran convincingly defeated Solaris and Primorje, respectively, in the 11th round and extended their unbeaten runs.

Jug is currently in 1st place, with three points more than Jadran, but the Split-based side has played one match fewer.

2022/23 Croatian League, Day 11

Group 1st – 5th place

Jug – Solaris 11:6 (4:2, 3:0,2:2, 2:2)
Jug AO: Burdjelez 2, Jokovic 2, Biljaka 2, Kakaris 2, Vukojevic 1, Lazic 1, Zuvela 1.
Solaris: Jakovcevic 2, Rak 2, Erak 1, Penava 1.

Jadran S – Primorje 23:14 (4:3, 7:2, 5:6, 7:3)
Jadran Split: Marinic Kragic 4, Setka 4, Delic 3, Dobud 3, Cagalj 2, Bukic 2, Duzevic 2, Buric 1, Butic 1, Pejkovic 1.
Primorje EB: Brubnjak 4, N.Cubranic 3, Babic 2, Crippa 2, Da.Brguljan 1, Muslim 1, Tonicic 1.

Mladost bye

Jug knocked down Solaris in the first half. The Dubrovnik-based team led 7:2 at halftime. Marko Zuvela opened the second half with a power-play goal for 8:2. Jug maintained a 6-goal lead until the middle of the fourth quarter (10:4). Solaris reduced the gap to five in the last few minutes.

Jadran’s defense was far from its best in the game against Primorje. However, the attack was up to the task, so the Split-based team controlled the match even though it conceded 14 goals. Primorje led 1:0 and 2:1. Jadran scored three goals in two and a half minutes and earned a 4:2 lead. After that, the hosts were always in front. By the end of the first half, Jadran built an 11:5 lead. Primorje scored nine goals in the second half, but the difference was never smaller than five.

In the next round, Jadran and Jug will face off in Split. That match will probably answer on the question, “Who will enter the playoffs from 1st place?”. The encounter between these two teams in the first half of the season, played in Dubrovnik, ended in a 10:10 draw. This season, Jug beat Jadran three times in neutral fields – in the Super Cup, in the final of the Croatian Cup, and the Regional League. Jadran is seeking revenge in front of its fans.

2.Jadran S 10 – 28
3. Mladost 10 – 21
4. Primorje 11 – 21

Then, Mornar netted two goals and secured a 14:12 victory. The hero of the match was Duje Akrap, who netted seven goals for Mornar.
