Marko Radulovic departs from Radnicki to join Novi Beograd

In the middle of the season, and on the eve of the Final Four of the Serbian Cup (Belgrade, January 28 -29), Radnicki Kragujevac left without one of its best scorers. Marko Radulovic departed from the club.

Radulovic will continue his career in Novi Beograd. He will get the right to play for the new club in the season 2023/24.

Radulovic played his last match for Radnicki on Tuesday. It was a game in the Champions League game against Jadran Split.

Commenting on the reasons for Radulovic’s departure, Radnicki sporting director Nikola Tomasevic says:

“We parted away in a mutual agreement. He wasn’t satisfied with the club, and the club wasn’t satisfied with him. We wish Marko Radulovic luck in his future career. “

Radulovic confirmed for the Serbian website Sport Klub that he would move to Novi Beograd. He will have to wait for a debut. The winter transfer window is over, and the clubs aren’t allowed to add new players to their rosters before the end of the season.

Radulovic was the MVP of the World U20 Championships in Prague in 2021 when Serbia won gold. He played for the senior national team at the World Championships and European Championships last summer. He was born in Croatia. A few years ago, he arrived in Serbia. Before coming to Radnicki, Radulovic played for Vojvodina and Sabac.

Radulovic’s departure isn’t the only news regarding the roster of the Kragujevac-based team. Radnicki, the reigning Serbian Cup champion, won’t count on center-forward Nemanja Vico at the Final Four. He probably won’t play until the end of the season, but he didn’t leave the club.

“Vico asked to go home to Kotor due to personal reasons. We met his request and allowed him to go”, Tomasevic clarified.

Radulovic departed, but Radnicki has already brought the first reinforcement for a new season. Today, the club confirmed that it had signed a contract with a-21-old Montenegrin Vuk Draskovic (who plays in the same position as Radulovic). Draskovic arrives from Primorac Kotor. He has debuted for the senior national team of Montenegro.

Radnicki and Novi Beograd are the favorites for the trophy in the Serbian Cup.

However, Novi Beograd will be without some of its key players at the F4 in Belgrade, like Radnicki. But, nobody will leave the club before the end of the season. The club has problems of a different kind. Novi Beograd still has a lot of troubles with injured and ill players. A few days ago, Novi Beograd had only 11 players on the roster in the match against Ferencvaros in the Champions League.

“Some players who were out of the team started recovering. But, I don’t know who will be ready to play in the Final Four of the Serbian Cup. We don’t ask for excuses. I am sure that the team will do its best”, Zivko Gocic, Novi Beograd’s head coach.

Tomorrow, Radnicki will play against Crvena Zvezda in the semifinals, while Novi Beograd will face Partizan.

The coaches of the favorites’ rivals, Milos Korolija (Partizan) and Aleksandar Filipovic (Crvena Zvezda), said they didn’t have problems with the rosters. All key players are ready. Both teams are highly motivated. They have had ups and downs throughout the season, but both clubs have played very well in the past months and improved their shape. So, considering the situation at Radnicki and Novi Beograd, some surprises are possible…

Last season, Radnicki won the Serbian Cup, beating Novi Beograd 11:9 in the final.

Serbian Cup (Belgrade, SC “Milan Gale Muskatrovic- “25 May”) , semifinals (January 28): Novi Beograd – Partizan (17:00 CET), Radnicki – Crvena Zvezda (20:00 CET).

The final is on January 29 at 20:00 (CET).

Crvena Zvezda and Vojvodina will play in the final of the Women’s Serbian Cup on Sunday before men’s final. That match will start at 17:00 CET.
