The international male tournament was held in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, this weekend. The home team, which was the biggest favorite, clinched 1st place.
Montenegro beat all three rivals convincingly. The hosts firstly beat Georgia 16:10, then defeated Germany 19:11. Today, they downed France 17:7 for the 1st place.
France finished 2nd, Georgia clinched 3rd place, while Germany completed the tournament with no points, in the last place.
All four teams will compete at the European Championships in Budapest (January 12th – 26th). The tournament for men starts on January 14th.
Montenegro and Germany will play in the same group, along with Croatia and Slovakia. France and Georgia are in Group D, together with Italy and Greece.
