Yesterday, Spandau and LEN announced that the German club won’t come to the third Champions League “bubble” tournament in Ostia, due to positive corona cases.

Several members of the team tested positive on Thursday. However, according to the latest information, the Germans will arrive in Ostia and will play at the tournament, if players test negative in the next testing.

“Another notification came from Germany: the team of Spandau went for another round of testing and everyone had a negative result this time.

This means that the team travels to Ostia and if the tests taken there are negative too, it will play its matches as scheduled. (As of now no official explanation is available on the different test results within three days.)”, LEN announced on the official Facebook page of the Champions League.

Spandau manager Peter Rohle confirmed that the club can travel to Italy.

“We continued testing and all the results were negative. After several apparently incorrect results previously, the health department has lifted the quarantine. We can travel to Rome.”, Rohle said for German media.

On Spandau’s schedule in Ostia are matches against  Pro Recco (Monday),Marseille  (Tuesday)and Ortigia (Wednesday).

The Germans are in 5th place after the 2nd “bubble” and still have chances of reaching the Final Eight.
