Ortigia wins derby, De Akker makes surprise

Last weekend Italian league did not play because of been break for the Italian Cup. Pro Recco was winning the 10th Italian Cup in a row.

Ortigia beat Trieste in the derby. Pro Recco and Brescia took new wins, while De Akker made a surprise against Telimar.

In the derby 19th gameday Ortigia took the win against semi-finalist Euro Cup Trieste. After the final Italian Cup Ortigia resumed playing in good form and winning Trieste 10–7. In the first quarter, Ortigia had a 3-1, but Trieste made a comeback in the second quarter and took a 3-4. However, by the end of the first half, the score was tied at 4-4 after Vidovic scored a goal for Ortigia. In the third period, white caps made a difference of 7-6. At the start of the last quarter, Rossi and Cassia scored to give Ortigia a big lead of 9-6. Despite Vidovic getting a red card towards the end of the game, Ortigia held on to win the match 10-7.

Pro Recco no made mistake on away in Savona. The team from Genova took an easy win with 4-15. Who will be the winner knew after the first half when the result was 1-8. Until the end match guests increased their advantage.

De Akker surprised Telimar by getting one point in an away game. De Akker managed to build an advantage in the first half, where the score was 4-6. However, the crucial period for the host team was the third period, where the players in the white caps scored six goals, while the other side scored only two. In the last eight minutes of the game, Telimar allowed the guests to come back in the game by scoring one goal against three from De Akker. This allowed De Akker to secure one point in the match. Now Telimar has the same points as Savona.

Posillipo in the first game this round justified role favorite in the duel with Catania. The effective game that the home team settled in the third quarter. Now Posillipo has the same points as De Akker.

Brescia lived up to expectations for a win against Roma. The team of Alessandro Bovo had an easy job in the capital city of Italy. In the first half already Brescia had a big advantage 3-7. However, followed the better play and got a huge difference end of the game 4-15.

The game started with Bogliasco taking an early lead of 3-2 in the first period, but Quinto managed to make a comeback and take the lead by halftime with a score of 4-6. Quinto extended their lead to four goals in the second half, making it 4-8. However, Bogliasco didn’t give up and managed to catch up with the guests, bringing the score to 8-9 with just 112 seconds left on the clock. Unfortunately for Bogliasco, Quinto was able to score one more goal, thanks to Figari, and bring the game to an end with a final score of 8-10 in favor of the blue-capped team.

Anzio defeated Salerno 11-7. In the first half result was 5-3. The winner was decided in the third period when the hosts made advantage of five goals 10-5. In the last period of the game were not many goals only three 11-7. In the host, the team was in good mood Pelicaric with four goals.
