The visitors collected three points in the derby of the 11th round of the Hungarian League.

OSC Budapest defeated Szolnok 11:8. Although the game was played in Szolnok, OSC was the favorite. The visitors secured a convincing win before the final quarter.

There were no surprises in the other matches. Ferencvaros, Honved, Vasas showed no mercy to their rivals.
Eger earned a slim but valuable win over UVSE (9:8).

Szolnok and OSC had big challenges in the LEN competitions just three days before the league derby. OSC won a point in the Champions League match against Jug, while Szolnok suffered a narrow loss to Trieste in the LEN Euro Cup quarterfinals. Interestingly, both teams suffered surprising losses in the 10th round of the Hungarian League (OSC was downed by Eger, while Szeged defeated Szolnok).

So, OSC got back on the winning track. Szolnok, which was unbeaten until the 10th round, suffered the third loss in a row.

OSC took off to a better start. The visitors played outstandingly in defense and they earned a 3-goal advantage in the 14th minute when Manhercz hit the back of the net for 4:1. Szolnok cut the deficit to two goals a few times (2:4, 3:5, 4:6). Still, at the finish of the third period, OSC netted three unanswered goals in less than two minutes and stretched the margin to five (9:4). The visitors kept a five-goal distance until the last break (10:5). The Budapest-based side slowed in the final quarter, but it controlled the game.

Ferencvaros, playing without Denes Varga and Szilard Jansik, ran over PVSK in Pecs. Vasas and Honved had no problems beating the rivals from the bottom of the table.

Last week, Eger caused a big surprise by beating OSC in Budapest (10:9). In the 11th round, Eger earned another win in the capital of Hungary. It edged out UVSE (9:8). Eger took a 2:0 lead in the opening minutes. UVSE leveled the score three times in the first half (2:2, 3:3, 4:4). The hosts didn’t take the lead, but the game was open until the end. UVSE chased the visitors. A minute and 23 seconds before the end, Nikola Murisic added his fourth goal for 9:7 and sealed Eger’s victory. UVSE halved the deficit in the dying seconds.

Szeged upset Szolnok (9:8) on Day 10, but it wasn’t able for a new surprising win. Today, Szeged welcomed BVSC. Szeged started quite well and it had a 2-goal lead three times (2:0, 3:1, 4:2). In the 16th minute, BVSC went ahead for the first time (5:4) and it doubled the advantage at the beginning of the third quarter (6:4). Szeged didn’t catch up with BVSC, which secured a big win, scoring seven goals in the last eight minutes.
