Sete upsets Tourcoing and ends winless run

Last-placed Sete produced a huge surprise in the 14th round of the French League. Sete defeated 3-rd placed Tourcoing 16:12 and recorded its first win in the season.

Sete’s water polo players ended their very long winless streak. They upset Tourcoung for their first victory after more than two years
(since 25 November 2017 and the victory over Douai).

The three points earned against Tourcoing won’t help a lot Sete in the ranking,in but this victory gives the last-placed team a great self-confidence.

Tourcoing remains in 3rd place because the 4th-placed Noisy-le-Sec was defeated by Strasbourg in Paris (10:14). Titleholder Strasbourg dominated from the beginning and came just 6 points behind Noisy.

Favorites Marseille and Pays d’Aix didn’t let their respective rivals surprise. Marseille, the league-leader, hosted Montpellier and achieved a 15:11 victory.

Pays d’Aix did a clean job in Nice, where it downed home team – 11:5.
