The hard battle of strong defenses highlighted the 1st quarter of the match between Real Canoe and Barcelona in Madrid. The visitors gained a 1:0 lead deep into the first period, but Real dominated the 2nd quarter and entered the second half with a 4:1 lead. Barceloneta managed to equalize in the 3rd minute of the fourth quarter (5:5). In the middle of this period, Real went ahead once more – 6:5. However, Barcelona scored four goals in the last four minutes for an 8:6 win. Victor Flores, who scored three goals for Barcelona, was voted the MVP of the match.
Titleholder Barceloneta continued its winning streak, by defeating Sant Andreu, which kept up with the favorites for a while. At halftime, the score was 4:4. Sant Andreu was just one goal behind (6:7) in the 27th minute. After that, Barceloneta scored three in a row for a safe 10:6 lead and maintained a 4-goal gap until the end – 11:7.
Sabadell rolled past Tenerife – 20:3, while Terrassa beat Catalunya easily – 18:6. Mataro had no problems in beating Navarra – 13:5.
