The Royal Spanish Swimming Federation (RFEN) suspended the matches of all national water polo leagues from the upcoming weekend until the end of the month.
Earlier this week, the RFEN decided to continue the leagues with no spectators. But, in the last few days, the number of coronavirus cases in Spain has raised rapidly. The RFEN, in compliance with the recommendations of the sports and health authorities, changed the previously made decision.
On Tuesday there were 1.695 coronavirus cases in Spain. Today, the number of registered infected patients is more than 3.000.
