After more than a month of absence from the competitions, Honved returned to action. Honved didn’t play a match from September 19 because of several corona cases in the team. Today, Honved faced the league-leader Szolnok in the postponed game of Day 8. Szolnok was merciless and recorded a 15:6 victory.
A total of three games were held today. OSC, led by Krisztian Manhercz, defeated Kaposvar. Miskolc and Eger shared the points.

Honved coach Marton Szivos couldn’t count on all of his players. Some of them still haven’t fully recovered, and they missed today’s match (among them are the most experienced players of Honved Adam Decker and Norbert Hosnyanszky). But, Szolnok also wasn’t complete. Filip Filipovic and Dusko Pijetlovic, two important players of the team coached by Zivko Gocic, weren’t on the team today. Still, Szolnok was well prepared for this match. Szolnok needed less than four minutes to build a 3:0 lead. The visitors maintained the difference until the middle break (6:3). Honved ran out of gas for the second half of the match, and Szolnok cruised to a win.
In the 6th minute of the encounter between OSC and Kaposvar in the “Nyeki Imre” pool in Budapest, the score was 1:1. Then, the match turned into a “one-man show “. OSC’s Krisztian Manhercz was unstoppable. He scored eight goals (Harai netted 1st, and Toth the 10th goal for the home team). OSC led throughout the game. The visitors were coming back from time to time. In the middle of the third period, Kaposvar cut the deficit for the last time (4:5). In the following eight minutes, Manhercz scored four goals to give OSC a significant 9:4 lead.
The clash of Miskolc and Eger was an even contest from the first whistle. Early in the second period, Eger had a 2-goal advantage (4:2). But, Miskolc scored four unanswered goals and grabbed a 6:4 lead in the first minute of the third period. Eger equalized before the last break (8:8). Eger’s Gabor Szalai converted a man-up in his team’s first possession in the final quarter, and the visitors went in front (9:8). In the middle of the fourth period, Balazs Sisan (Miskolc) hit the back of the net for the final score (9:9).
