As we’re nearing the conclusion of the Total Player Award, we’re welcoming Márton Benczur in the Female Category.
Benczur is the head coach of the Hungarian UVSE – the team he had led and still leads, to numerous victories. As one of the major Women’s clubs in Hungary, UVSE crowned many matches under his leadership. See who the head coach picked!

Dutch National Player | Club: USC | Position: Field player
“Megens led the Dutch Team to the gold medal in Barcelona with 21 goals scored. She also got the top scorer title in the World League Super Final with 15 goals on her score. Besides being a reliable and accurate player, she’s strong in the defense and quite talented in assisting her teammates.”
2nd – Rita Keszthelyi
Hungarian National Player | Club: UVSE Budapest | Position: Driver/Wing
“Keszthelyi is the captain of the Hungarian Team and their most talented player. Her shots are cannon-like, but it’s the way she shoots that make them even better. As to prove her skills, she had the most brilliant goal in Barcelona this summer against Italy.”
3rd – Beatriz Ortiz
Spanish National Player | Club: CN Sabadell | Position: Driver
“Ortiz is the ‘heavy artillery’ of the great Spanish Team. She scored 24 goals in Barcelona, with an average of three goals per match! What’s even better, she saved the best for last, scoring five goals in the semi-finals. As one of the best shooters in the world, she played really good at the Euro League.”
4th – Alexandra Asimaki
Greek National Player | Club: Olympiacos Piraeus | Position: Center Forward
“The captain of the Greek Team who won one gold (Europa Cup), and one silver (European Championships). When playing as the Center Forward, she’s indestructible. She also played the major role in order for Greece to win.”
5th – Margaret Steffens
USA National Player | Club: UVSE | Position: Driver
“One of the most tactical and professional players in the world. She can play all the positions on the highest level. Besides her play, she’s greatly contributing to the positivity and energy of her team. She plays for the team every second with her assists.”
