Aaron Younger, the captain of the Australian national team, has been considered one of the best non-European players in European water polo in the last few years.
He won three trophies in the Champions League with three different clubs. The series started in 2017 when Younger played for Szolnok. Then came two back-to-back European titles. Younger clinched his second Champions League as a member of Ferencvaros in 2019. After a canceled season 2019/20, he moved to Pro Recco and he did it again. Younger won a new Champions League trophy, playing for the Italian club.
He is a three-time Olympian (2012, 2016, and 2021). His most significant successes with the “Aussie Sharks” are silver in the 2018 World Cup and bronze in the 2019 World League. Younger was named the MVP of the 2018 World Cup.
