Predrag Mihailovic was, until last month, the Head Coach of the Australian Women’s national team. Having had a modest 15-year playing career, the Serb retired in 2005 before taking on coaching stints in his home country, Serbia, and Turkey, before arriving in Australia.
Whilst down under, the 47-year-old took control of some of Australia’s biggest clubs, Cronulla Sharks & the NSWIS, before joining the women’s high performance programme and the national team as assistant coach in 2013.
In 2018, Mihailovic was promoted from assistant coach to head coach, and the results came instantly with Australia securing a Bronze medal at Gwangju 2019. He led Australia to a 5th place finish in Tokyo.
He coached his daughter, Lena, on many occasions for Australia (including the Olympics), while his son has represented Serbia at youth level.
“I would like to exclude my players from my picks sinc e I can’t be objective” stated Mihailovic fro Total Waterpolo.
