Vouliagmeni, the runner-up in the 2020/21 Greek League, has been very active in the finish of the transfer window. The club brought two winners of the Olympic silver medal in two days.

Yesterday, the club announced that Marios Kapotsis had returned to Vouliagmeni after three years. Today, Vouliagmeni confirmed signing a contract with Dimitrios Skoumpakis. Both players are coming from Olympiacos.

After two arrivals, Vouliagmeni has three Olympic silver medalists on the roster. Kapotsis and Skoumpakis joined Konstantinos Gkiouvetsis, who debuted for Vouliagmeni a few years ago.

Kapotsis (30) played for Palaio Faliro, Panioios (2008 – 2012), Olympiacos (2012-2014), Vouliagmeni (2014-2018). Three years ago, he moved to Romania and played for Steaua for two seasons. Last year, he returned to Greece to join Olympiacos. After one season in the Piraeus-based club, he moved to Vouliagmeni.

Defender Dimitrios Skoumpakis (23) started his career in Chania. Then he joined Glyfada, while he played for Olympiacos from 2018 to 2021. He debuted for Greece in 2018 and has played more than 80 games for the national team.

Skoumpakis and Kapotsis left Olympiacos after the end of the season, and they arrived at the Tokyo Games as free agents. Both won the bronze medal in the World League before the Olympic Games.

Vouliagmeni has three Olympic silver medalists on the roster for a new season. Kapotsis and Skoumpakis joined Konstantinos Gkiouvetsis, who debuted for Vouliagmeni a few years ago.

The club has signed contracts with three newcomers this summer. Lovro Paparic (Primorje) arrived before Kapotsis and Skoumpakis. Three players left the club. Vouliagmeni’s legend Christos Afroudakis retired, Andrija Basic moved to Telimar (Italy), while Konstantinos Gouvis joined Olympiacos.

Last week, Vouliagmeni renewed contracts with Croatian left-handed Luka Lozina and goalkeeper Panagiotis Tzortzato

Olympiacos will be a heavy favorite in the Greek League and the Champions League, but Vouliagmeni will be a solid opponent to the best Greek club at the domestic stage.
