UVSE and Szentes played their first games in the 2020/21 Hungarian League. Their matches of the first two rounds are postponed because of coronavirus.

UVSE opened its campaign with a win. UVSE and Tatabanya were tied at 2:2 after the first eight minutes. UVSE tightened the defense in the second period, and scored four goals and earned a 6:2 lead. After that, Tatabanya wasn’t able to come back.

Honved rushed to a 5:1 lead. Szentes was climbing back from time to time, it reduced the gap to one goal two times (5:6 and 8:9). Midway through the fourth period, an experienced Norbert Hosnyanszky scored two goals in 60 seconds and Honved built a safe 11:8 advantage.

The 4th round is scheduled for Saturday. But, three matches are postponed because of the coronavirus cases at the clubs: Kaposvar – Ferencvaros, BVSC – OSC, KSI – Szentes.

The last club that asked for the postponement was Kaposvar. On Monday, the club announced that one of the players had tested positive for COVID-19.

Since the middle of August, ten Hungarian clubs have reported corona cases: Ferencvaros, Eger, Debrecen, UVSE, Szeged, Kaposvar, Szolnok, Vasas, OSC, and Kaposvar. BVSC asked for a postponement of the match last weekend, due to suspicious corona cases.
