An action-packed Day 2 of the FINA World Masters Water Polo Championships in Gwangju offered 17 matches and a few very thrilling encounters

Two teams arrived in Gwangju as reigning champions in their respective categories. In Budapest two years ago, YBL-Octopus (Hungary) won the gold in the men’s 45+ category. After two round of the 2019 Championships, YBL-Octopus is on the top of the group in which compete 7 teams.

Perth Cockatoos (Australia) are the current champions for men elder than 70 years. But, the Cockatoos have a hard exam in Gwangju. This time, male 65+ and 70+ teams are playing in the same group. But, the Australian club has a “junior” squad. Perth Cocaktoos 65+ team also plays in this category. Cockatoos 65+ defeated Cockatoos 70+ today (16:5).

The club from Perth is represented by three teams, as the Cockatoos compete in the age group 60+, too.

Today, the spectators at Nambu University Grounds saw a local derby in women’s competition. Rari Nantes Bologna 30+ (Italy) defeated Rari Nantes Bologna 40+ (16:7).
