The FINA Men’s Water Polo World League 2018 resumes next Tuesday, January 16, with the third round of the European preliminaries.
Montenegro will play Romania at home in Budva, while Germany will battle it out in Krefeld (GER) against the Croatians and finally Spain will visit the Hungarian in Hodmezovasarhely (HUN).
So far, current World League title holders Serbia won both its games: the team beat Romania 12-3 in the opening match on November 14 and Montenegro 7-4 on the occasion of round 2 on December 12.
Croatia (2017 World champions) and Spain lead their respective groups with 3 points each. Hungary defeated the Netherlands 13-6 on December 12, giving the team 3 points as well.
The women will be playing their third round of the European preliminaries on January 30.
The non-European teams, both men and women, are due to gather in Auckland, New Zealand, for the newly renamed FINA Inter-Continental Cup 2018, from April 3-8, giving the best teams access to the Super Final to be held in June.
