On the last day of the Games, the matches were straight-forward, with an exception of Kazakhstan vs Japan.
Tight throughout the quarters, the teams battled for the second place. In the end, Kazakhstan was better by a notch, taking the lead and paving their way to the silver medal.
As for the champion – China – match against Hong Kong was a walk in the park. They crushed their opponents with 16:3. It will be a tournament they’ll surely remember because of the flawless overall gameplay (5/5 matches won).
Gong Da Li, China coach, commented the finals:
“We are so satisfied with the result. To continuously win in the tournament is beyond our expectation. We have worked hard and have done our best. Our suggestion for the Hong Kong team is to maximize their skills because we are sure they have the capacity. This Asian Games is our means to develop to compete in the 2018 Water Polo World Cup.”
