The first-ever group stage of the LEN Men’s Euro Cup will start on Friday, with the matches of Day 1 in Group C.
This year’s competition features a new format, like all LEN cups. The group phase is identical to that of the Champions League.
Sixteen teams will participate in the group phase, with eight advancing to the knockout stage. The schedule is a bit weird, as the winners of the eight qualification groups will meet already on the first day.

Group A
Participants: Telimar Palermo (Italy), Barcelona (Spain), Solaris Sibenik (Croatia), Tourcoing (France).
Day 1 (October 7): Solaris – Tourcoing, Telimar – Barcelona (October 8)
Day 2 (October 19): Telimar – Solaris, Barcelona – Tourcoing.
Day 3 (November 2): Tourcoing – Telimar, Solaris – Barcelona.
Day 4 (November 16): Barcelona – Telimar, Tourcoing – Solaris
Day 5 (November 23): Solaris – Telimar, Tourcoing – Barcelona
Day 6 (December 9): Telimar – Tourcoing, Barcelona – Solaris.
Group B
Participants: Honved (Hungary), Vasas (Hungary), Apollon Smyrnis (Greece), Savona (Italy).
Day 1 (October 7): Honved – Vasas, Apollon – Savona
Day 2 (October 19): Honved – Apollon, Vasas – Savona
Day 3 (November 2): Savona – Honved, Apollon – Vasas.
Day 4 (November 16): Vasas – Honved, Savona – Apollon
Day 5 (November 23): Apollon – Honved, Savona – Vasas
Day 6 (December 9): Honved – Savona, Vasas – Apollon
Group C
Participants: Sabac (Serbia), Primorje Rijeka (Croatia), BVSC Budapest (Hungary), Waspo 98 Hannover (Germany).
Day 1 (October 6): Sabac – Primorje, BVSC – Waspo Hannover
Day 2 (October 19): Sabac – BVSC, Primorje – Waspo Hannover
Day 3 (November 2): Waspo Hannover – Sabac, BVSC – Primorje

Group D
Participants: Trieste (Italy), Primorac Kotor (Montenegro), Ortigia (Italy), Panionios (Greece).
Day 1 (October 7): Ortigia – Panionios, Primorac – Trieste
Day 2 (October 19): Trieste– Ortigia, Primorac – Panionios
Day 3 (November 2): Ortigia – Primorac, Panionios – Trieste
Day 4 (November 16): Trieste– Primorac, Panionios – Ortigia
Day 5 (November 23): Ortigia – Trieste, Panionios – Primorac
Day 6 (December 9): Trieste– Panionios, Primorac – Ortigia
It is possible that some matches will be played a day before or after a scheduled date.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the eighth-finals. Besides these eight teams, the 3rd-placed and 4th-placed teams in the Group stage of the Champions League will play in the Round of 16The eighth-finals (March 8 and 23) and the quarter-finals (April 6 and 27) will be played on a home-and-away basis. The best four teams will play in the Final Four (May 17 and 18).
