Zsolt Varga, the head coach of Hungary, called up 27 players for the preparations for the European Championships in Croatia (January 4 – 16).
Among the 27 invited players are 14 who won the gold medal in Fukuoka (center-forward Toni Nemet, who has been recovering from shoulder surgery, is missing) and several juniors who won gold at the World U20 Championships in Otopeni this summer.
The Hungarians will start preparing for the European Championships (and the World Championships in Doha, as well) on December 11 in Budapest. Between December 18 and 21, Hungary will host the national teams of Spain,Serbia, Romania and Germany at the EON Cup at the Komjadi pool.

Field players: Gyorgy Agh, Zsombor Szeghalmi, Zsombor Vismeg (all Szolnok), Daniel Angyal, Krisztian Manhercz ( both Marseille), Gergely Burian (Vasas), Zsombor Ekler(Honved), Denes Varga, Szilard Jansik Gergo Fekete, Erik Molnar, Adam Nagy, Akos Nagy, Zoltan Pohl, Vendel Vigvari (all Ferencvaros), Balazs Harai, Vince Vigvari ( both OSC Budapest), Peter Kovacs, Matyas Meszaros, David Tatrai (all BVSC), Marton Vamos (Olympiacos) Gergo Zalanki (Pro Recco).
Hungary will play against Greece, Italy, and Georgia in the group phase of the European Championships.
