The continent's best team will be slightly stronger come September, as Ferencvaros welcomes four excellent summer signings.
Two former players, Marton Vamos and Krisztina Manhercz, return to the Hungarian powerhouse, while Spanish international Miguel De Toro will be a strong option at center-forward.
Their fourth signing is a recruit from within Hungary and one of the country's best young players, Zsombor Vismeg.
Vamos, 31, returns to Fradi with a respectable medal haul from Greece, having twice won a league and cup double with the Red-Whites. Before departing for Piraeus, Vamos was a two-time Champions League winner, first with Szolnok in 2017, and later with Ferencvaros in 2019.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Manhercz, who left Ferencvaros in 2018, has since played for OSC, where he remained until his recent stint in Marseille. Despite his absence, rumors have consistently linked him with a move back to Ferencvaros, the 25-time Hungarian champions.
Miguel De Toro, 30, is playing outside Spain for the first time. After leaving Mediterrani, De Toro donned the colors of Barceloneta, winning dozens of titles with the club. The center-forward played in Tokyo for the Spanish national team and was key to gold medals at the World Championships (2022), World Cup (2023), and European Championships (2024).
Last, but certainly not least, 21-year-old Zsombor Vismeg is simply put, the future of the Hungarian national team, and now Fradi. After making his debut for his local team Miskolc at only 15, it wasn't long before he secured a big move to Szolnok, where he has since gone from strength to strength. Vismeg was part of the U20 Hungarian team that dominated their World Championships. In January, Vismeg played at the European Championships with the senior national team.
These four signings all add to an already excellent squad. With these additions, they will be right in the conversation to retain their title.
