Dusan Matkovic has re-signed for Primorac after two seasons away elsewhere in Europe.
One of Montenegro's most exciting players returns to his hometown of Kotor to play for Primorac - who won the Montenegrin league this year for the first time since 2008, and will play in the Champions League in 2024-2025 season.
Matkovic, now 25, had previously played for VK Primorac Kotor until 2022, where he helped the team secure the National Cup in 2021. His career then took him to CN Atletic-Barceloneta, where he amassed an impressive array of titles: the Copa Catalunya, the Spanish Super Cup, the King's Cup, and the Spanish Championship. He also earned a bronze medal in the 2023 LEN Champions League. In August 2023, Matkovic made another move, this time to the Paris-based side Noisy-le-Sec.
Adding to his list of honors, Matkovic had the privilege of carrying the national flag of Montenegro at the closing ceremony of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. This notable achievement made him the 30th water polo player to serve as a flag bearer at the Olympic opening and closing ceremonies.
Primorac has also strengthened its roster with other key signings, including 25-year-old center-forward Savo Cetkovic from Novi Beograd and center-back Luka Murisic, also 25, who arrives after a successful stint with Catania in Italy. These strategic additions signal Primorac's ambitions for the upcoming season as they prepare to compete on the European stage.
