When Ekipe Orizzonte announced that Valeria Palmieri would be leaving the club a week ago, many believed she would be heading to the Greek champions. Today, we learned that she has, in fact, signed with the Hungarian side FTC-Telekom.
The 30-year-old Italian center-forward joins Ferencváros in their hunt for their first Hungarian championship title. After spending 14 years at Ekipe Orizzonte, Palmieri won over a dozen honors, including six Italian titles, five Coppa Italia trophies, and a LEN Trophy.
Palmieri, the captain of the Italian national team, is yet to reach the highest accolades with the Setterosa, having won bronze medals at the European Championships in Split in 2022 and at the World Championships in Fukuoka in 2023.
